Head of Global Operations

TORM is one of the world’s leading product tanker carriers and a long-term contract holder in the Bulk market. We operate a modern fleet of approximately 100 vessels which vary in size from 37,000-110,000 dwt vessels. To strengthen our commercial team, we are looking for a new Head of our Global Tanker Operation Department, based in our Copenhagen head office.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Head of our Tanker Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing a high performing operation team who are responsible for operation of company-owned tanker vessels employed by TORM worldwide.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment, often needing to handle tasks at once and you will be expected to profitably use your vast professional knowledge, both in terms of implementing the strategy for the global operations, leading and supporting the three operations teams and completing occasional operational tasks yourself.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for daily management of the Global Operations Department, strategic planning and budgets regarding activities in the department, close cross-organizational coordination and for pursuing constant development and refinement of processes.
Responsibilities include
- Responsible for the organization and leadership of the global Operations Department.
- Strategic planning, business plans and budgets regarding activities in the Global Operations Department
- Organization of manning, education and development of the Operations Department in Copenhagen, Singapore and Stamford, USA
- Developing and driving your team towards high performance
- Participate in the leadership in the Tanker Division as part of the Tanker Management Team.
You like challenges, have strong communication skills and are fluent in English. You cope well under pressure and are enthusiastic.
Your qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience from similar role
- Vast knowledge of technical and legal aspects within Operations.
- Excellent leadership skills
- Performance- and result oriented and a true team player
