Our client a worldwide renowned geophysical services company, is seeking a Training and Staffing Manager due to expansion. Working from their offices in West Sussex this is an integral role within the busy Personnel Department.
 
 
Purpose of role:
 
The key purpose to this position is to ensure that all areas of the Marine division are manned with qualified, certified and medically fit seafarers in accordance with national and international requirements, identifying and selecting individuals for specific roles and supporting the divisions recruiting and training needs as required.
 
 
Main responsibilities:
 
Initiating staffing plans in cooperation with Operations and Business Managers, this position will ensure that all personnel and training programs and development plans exist and implement and coordinate as appropriate.  Working in a team of personnel managers overseeing the client’s large and diverse crew and maintenance teams, you will continuously monitor the training database to ensure that employees are correctly registered and maintain and develop the marine personnel database. With responsibility for the proper induction and onboarding process for new recruits, you will promote a mutually beneficial work environment which will enhance relationships between field crew and office based personnel based on fair and equal treatment of all. Identification of continuous improvement initiatives is an essential element to this position as well as assisting with recruitment, interviewing and coaching and development of new staff.
 
 
Required qualifications, experience and additional information. 
 
Educated to degree level, ideally in HR or Business, it is essential that the successful candidate will be a broad HR generalist with your experience gained within the maritime industry. You should be a results driven individual with the ability to lead by example and proactively promote continuous improvement of HR Policies and Standards.
 
You will have a flexible approach to travel as the role requires you will be required to visit personnel onboard the vessels whilst they are at sea on occasion, which will involve undergoing an off shore survival course.
