Working with a global Oil, Energy and Transportation business – ARM are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to become a technical expert, within the Shipping vessel fleet department – in order to lead, coach and provide guidance for project activities including new buildings, and ships in service to ensure they meet the required design & construction, operational standards, and specifications.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and review any electrical design changes
- Organise and coordinate project activities and processes
- Develop and introduce best practices and procedures
- Develop technical specifications & write inspection plans
- Adhere to and follow risk management strategies
- Review and approval of drawings and manuals
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant class, flag, shipyards etc. Including industry bodies
Ideal candidate specification:
- Electrical engineering specific degree qualification or equivalent
- Marine electrical experience within shipping / maritime organisation or shipyard construction or repair yards
- Anyone from a Classification, Superintendent, or Shipyard personnel – will be a distinct advantage
- Good knowledge and experience working with Tankers
- Membership of relevant professional body i.e. IMarEST
- Previous experience, and proven track record in this environment
