GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client, a well-known ship owner who has a long history in the shipping industry, seeks an experienced Operations Manager (Dry Bulk) in Mumbai. The role covers all operational matters on the handled ships to ensure smooth operations, providing the highest quality of service to customers.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT     
Our client is a well-known ship owner who has a long history in the shipping industry. They operate a large fleet through offices in strategic locations worldwide.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
You would have a minimum of 4-5 years relevant working experience with a reliable track record in the shipping industry. You would possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written in English), social skills, leadership and strong attention to details. You would have the ability to supervise a small group of people as you will provide guidance and day-to-day support to your team. You will have to be currently based in India for this role as no relocation will be provided. Candidates who are from India (with relevant experience) and wanting to go back to live in India could also apply.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be the person in charge for all operational matters on the handled ships to ensure smooth operations and providing the highest quality to customers. You will study all terms & conditions of the agreed contracts and ensure that all requirements are being followed and fulfilled. You will handle voyage planning (calculating fuel consumption / cargo intake / port rotation / optimal sea route) and preparation of voyage orders for the ship. You will supervise the process of issuing freight invoices / paying & collecting hire / lay-time calculations. You will be in charge of approving cargo documentation and releasing as well as monitoring ship’s performance at sea. You will handle claims in coordination with the legal department.
