Our client is the global market leader in building and implementing terminal operating systems and optimization solutions for ports around the world. They deliver enterprise software that is at the heart of running a terminal and services to optimize operations. 
Due to continued growth they require a Strategic Account Manager. 

*Engage with our clients' most important Global Terminal Operator clients at a Senior Manager to Executive level to generate client loyalty, stimulate growth, and improve profitability of the relationship. 
*Learn and analyze the client's business, organization, strategies, and expectations at a global corporate level and at a regional/business unit level to include understanding who are the key influencers and decision makers. Stay abreast of developments and changes in these areas as the client organization and industry evolve. 
*Develop strategic account plans for clients and work with cross functional and cross regional teams to execute against the account plans. 
*Lead a cross functional effort and teams to ensure quality service is delivered to the client through sales, professional services and support processes and to engage/report to executives on the state of the relationship with recommendations for improvement. 
*Participate in commercial escalations, positioning and negotiations with the client. 
*Establish and maintain a healthy and positive business relationship with the client facilitating business growth for near-term, medium-term and long-term opportunities. 
*Report internally and to the client on engagement objectives, statuses and challenges. 
*Take responsibility for the overall client relationship and business outcomes. 
Critical Success Factors include: 
*The ability to handle and prioritize multiple actions, projects, programs related to the account. 
*Near and long-term planning and execution skills. The position requires operational and tactical level work combined with a strategic focus on longer term initiatives. 
*Leadership skills to align teams across the organization and deliver value-based programs and solutions. 
*Experience: The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the container terminal operations space combined with an intimate understanding of the nature and challenges of developing, delivering and supporting mission critical enterprise software. The software industry knowledge should stem from extensive experience with enterprise software as a software industry/company manager or executive, or as an operational user/consumer of enterprise software in heavy industrial settings. Experience specifically with marine Terminal Operating Systems will be advantageous. 
*Education: Bachelor's degree required. An advanced degree or advanced management training preferred.
