Assistant Director ,Maritime Affairs Department, London, UK

Spinnaker is working on an exciting opportunity to be an Assistant Director (Maritime Affairs Department) for a renowned Maritime Authority, based in their London office.

Within this role, you will be required to represent and support the authority at meetings such as the IMO, where you will be analysing and developing maritime issues.
You will be required to provide technical support at these meetings, as well as preparing submissions to the IMO and other government agencies.
You may also be required to deliver presentations on technical and policy issues to external forums.

Within the Maritime Authority, you will support the development of technical policies, support responses for external technical and compliance enquiries, and have input into internal departments with regards to the authority’s ships.

Suitable candidates should have a Master Mariner’s or Chief Engineer’s CoC, possess a vast experience within the maritime sector, and be highly familiar with international maritime legislation.

The ideal candidate for this role will be highly self-motivated, organised, have the confidence to carry out presentations, and be effective at working in a team.

Candidates should also be fluent in English, and have UK working entitlement.
