Compliance and Risk Management Superintendent, London

A market leading ship owner operating a sizeable fleet of sophisticated gas ships is currently looking for a risk management professional to join their experienced team.

This role will focus on creating and embedding a strong culture of risk management supported by policies, guidance and training.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Generate company specific risk management tools and processes across the organisation
  • Review and analyse risk management performance and provide recommendations
  • Assist in HSE and safety management audits
  • Provide support and training to shore side colleagues and the ship’s crew to build a risk management understanding, capability and effectiveness
  • Monitor and evaluate performance against agreed targets
  • Incident and accident analysis and investigation
  • Regular ship visits - ship inspections & audits

The role will involve a high amount of international travel.

To be a suitable candidate for the position you should have a strong background in a risk management role within the operations of volatile gases or chemicals.

You must be working ashore, marine experience is preferred but not essential. In addition you should have experience working to ISO 9001and 14000 standards with a passion for safety and a real focus on making risk management policies and procedures understandable but also engaging to ensure a successful culture.
