Senior Operations Manager (Tankers), Houston

An exclusive opportunity to work with a highly reputable and well established organisation within tanker transportation in their Houston office has arisen.  As Senior Operations Manager, you will take the lead in all operational matters of their modern sophisticated tanker fleet when in North and South American waters.

You will manage the day to day requirements of expediting vessels and post fixture activities. Your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Issuing voyage orders, plan stowages, appoint agents, co-ordinate all day to day port operations, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and deal with all requirements for the vessels & crews when calling at all North & South American ports and possibly also European ports. 
• Co-ordinate with charterers & brokers to provide eta notices, stow plans, vessel updates, deal with ongoing changes or problems, control bills of lading, issue freight invoices, and ensure charter party compliance and all requirements through to the charter completion.

• Coordinate with Houston chartering department and other offices on space/voyage planning. Assist with claims and laytime/demurrage calculations.
• Liaise with the Master of the vessel for safe operations whilst in N & S American waters (and possibly European waters) and co-ordinate when required on the resupply of bunkers and other vessel perishables.

To be considered for this position, you should have a proven track record in tanker vessel operations. You should be a team player with a confident approach and able to work effectively in high pressure situations.
