As the General Lighthouse Authority for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar, Trinity House are a world leader in the provision of aids to navigation. Providing nearly 600 aids to navigation, the service uses three ships and new technology to deliver a leading-edge service.

Working exclusively with Halcyon Recruitment, we are currently seeking a Senior Marine Superintendent, who will report directly to the Director of Operations and will hold the responsibility for the overall management and delivery of the Marine Operations and Support Vessel Service department.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementation of the organisation’s safety management system across the marine department, including the Support Vessel fleet

  • Manage all aspects of the operation, maintenance and overhaul of Trinity House ships, workboats and light-vessels

  • Overall management for training and development of all marine personnel required for marine activities

  • Formulation and delivery of long term and mid-term operational plans

  • Effective budget development and control

  • Promote and develop a culture of continuous development

We require a Master Mariner with extensive knowledge of ship operations and UK coastal waters. In addition you should have proven experience at a senior management level ashore with large scale budgetary management and strong leadership skills. This role will be based at Trinity House Harwich, therefore the successful candidate should be located or willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance.
