Faststream Recruitment Group has entered into an exclusive partnership with Saga Cruises to recruit and hire the full site team who will be critical in the oversight and delivery of their eagerly anticipated new build project.

The new ship aptly named the Spirit of Discovery will be built at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany. The vessel will be 57,600 GT, will house about 1000 passengers in 550 all-balcony cabins and suites and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2019.

Over the course of the next few months, Faststream will be recruiting and mobilising the site team who will be responsible for supervising the ship construction in Papenburg. In collaboration with the Newbuilding Management of Saga Cruises, Faststream will be looking to attract the best people in the market to deliver complex but exciting project that leads Saga into an even brighter future.

Through this exclusive partnership, we are now in search for a highly experienced Coatings & Insulation Superintendent for their exciting new build project in Papenburg.

The role will have you oversee the construction of the vessel within the coatings and insulation discipline. You will be required to carry out regular and unscheduled inspections on the owners behalf reporting back on the quality, safety and progression of the project as well as highlighting any potential risks.

It is expected that you will have extensive knowledge of Rules and Regulations related to cruise ship construction and be familiar with the design of the vessel at a detailed level. You will assist in setting up quality control and administration processes and systems and assist site management in maintaining the Site Team budget

Coming from a cruise ship new build background within a coatings and insulation department would be highly adventitious but not essential. You must hold a current FROSIO III or NACE 2 qualification and have extensive knowledge and experience of surface preparation, coating and insulation application standards and procedures to be considered.
