Naval Architect / Project Managers needed for growing Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering practice in Helsinki, Finland 

Project Management experience with the Cruise or Superyacht industry is especially desired for the following projects:

  • Provide Technical Consultancy Services Over Project Life Cycle
  • Work with Project Team
  • Closely Work with Customer To Ensure Complete Satisfaction
  • Participate with Project Execution Stage Onboard Vessels
  • Manage Warranty Claims on Behalf of Client

Types of Projects

Feasibility studies

  • Conversion Feasibility Study, Safe Return to Port Study

Project management and consultation

  • Conversion Project Management, Management Assistance, Architect Coordination

Outline projects packages for requesting bids from shipyards

  • Specification, General Arrangement, Midship Section, Powering, Architect Layouts

Lightweight surveys and inclining test, stability material updates

  • Using NAPA software and experience of several tests

Conversion engineering, including class approval process

  • Structural, piping and electrical drawings, stability calculations

Hull form optimization by CFD

  • Optimal hull form for newbuilding project or conversion

Model test coordination and supervision

  • Complete package from CFD-optimization to final hull form

Fuel saving audits and improvements

  • Hull form and appendage improvements, operational advice

Manoeuvring and seakeeping evaluation

  • Manoeuvring and seakeeping evaluation at the early design stage

On-site support

  • To guarantee successful conversion project

Plan updates

Structural basic design and detail design, FE-analyses

  • Structural design for a lengthening project and ducktail

Basic design for ship systems

  • Design for cruise ship piping and ducting

Project management support

  • Supporting shipyard in newbuilding project management

Hull form optimization by CFD

  • Optimal hull form and appendages for newbuilding or conversion

Stability calculations

  • Calculation for projects design or newbuildings

Interior and HVAC basic and detail design

  • For interior areas supplied by shipyard.

Analysis of Reference Ships for sales projects

  •  material evaluation, measurements, reporting



 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years Experience with Seagoing (Preferably Cruise Ship) Vessel Projects
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • B.S. Degree in Naval Architecture; Electrical Engineering; Marine Engineering; or Similar
  • Ability to work Legally in the European Union
  • Available for World-Wide Travel
  • Thrive on Challenging Projects and Problem Solving
