Vessel Operator (Dry Bulk), Athens

Due to continued expansion this established dry bulk owner requires an experienced Vessel Operator to join their commercial team in Athens.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day to day pre and post fixture operations which will include the following;

• Voyage planning and scheduling

  • Issue voyage instructions to vessels

  • Update vessels on scheduling and planning

  • Book and arrange bunkers

  • Monitor voyage performance

  • Liaise with agents on berth situation and port operations

• Cargo Planning and execution

  • Determine specific cargo volumes for vessels

  • Prepare pre-stowage plans

  • Ensure that stowage meets IMO regulations

  • Discuss & confirm stowage with vessels

• Laytime calculations & settlement with contractual parties

• Liaise with the finance department regarding invoicing matters

• Complete required reporting processes.

To be suitable for this position you should have previous experience operating dry bulk vessels working for a shipowner with a strong commercial aptitude, a real team player with a great attention to detail.
