Passionate about UK seafaring?

A key element of the Maritime Growth Study is reliant on a supply of UK seafarers to meet the nation’s economic and strategic requirements. We are looking for a Chief Engineer who can provide technical support, so we can help develop the infrastructure to allow UK cadet numbers to grow and deliver the next generation of UK seafarers to meet the needs of a global industry. In addition, we are building the MCA training brand globally and to do this we need maintain our unique selling point, quality.  With your help we will look to do this with the development of new training initiatives and the ongoing monitoring of existing MCA approved schemes around the globe.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop standards of training and certification for seafarers by working with our key stakeholders, including shipping companies, the Merchant Navy Training Board, social partners, nautical colleges and other training establishments.

There is a requirement to work outside of normal conditioned hours and to work/travel on official duty within the UK and short-term visits overseas or offshore. This may involve overnight stays away from home. Overtime rates will be available, and we can fit the travel to ensure work life balance.   A passport valid for international travel is required.
