SeaRiver Planning & Strategy Commercial Analyst

Job Summary:

Provide strategic and commercial analytical support for marine activities involving shipment of crude oil, clean products, chemicals, lubes & specialties, and LNG. 

Based in Houston, TX. Position is eligible for domestic relocation per company policies.

Primary Job Functions:

Develops market analysis and freight market rate predictions that provide strategic direction for commercial organization

 

Develops global marine coverage strategies, performing long-term commercial planning and optimal fleet assessments

 

Provides analysis to support commercial negotiating strategies

 

Provides economic analysis and coordinates implementation of special projects, including fleet restructuring strategies

 

New Business Development – provide commercial strategies and market studies to determine optimal shipping strategies for new/growing businesses

 

Provides logistics and financial analysis in support of Upstream, Downstream and Chemicals projects

 

Oversees preparation of internal optimization & stewardship metrics, including industry benchmarking, time charter performance evaluation, and investment performance reappraisals

 

Provides analysis of Marine Transportation Business Structure

 

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Logistics or a degree from a Maritime University. 

Minimum of 3 years of experience in analytical, supply chain, logistics, or shipping/marine roles within the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry.

Successful candidates will be highly motivated individuals interested in a dynamic career with a large multinational company. 

Successful candidates will have demonstrated analytical capability in prior roles through economic modeling, forecasting, or equivalent quantitative responsibility.

Marine industry experience or knowledge desirable
