ABCML is a leading Europe based owner-operator of dry bulk vessels worldwide. With over 80 years of industry service, the company continues to experience exponential growth and currently boasts a fleet of 45 Drybulk Supra/Ultramax vessels at any given time. As a prominent player in the industry, ABCML continues to expand its activities in both the Atlantic and Pacific basin.

We are actively seeking an ambitious Chartering Manager to join our dynamic team in Athens, Greece. In this role, you will be focused in identifying profitable chartering opportunities, negotiating advantageous contracts and maximizing revenue in our core market.  

     Role Responsibilities:

  • Identify and capitalize on profitable chartering and freight sell side opportunities in the Supra/Ultra market.
  • Utilize market intelligence and industry insights to make quick and well-structured decisions.
  • Negotiate and finalize advantageous charter contracts with shipowners and charterers.
  • Analyze market trends, freight rates, supply side and cargo demand to guide chartering strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders. Strong interest & willingness to travel internationally.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations, bunker management and commercial teams to ensure seamless charter execution.
  • Optimize vessel allocation and performance through consistent and diligent market assessments.
  • Manage charter contracts effectively, adhering to all legal and operational guidelines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the chartering domain.


  • Proven success as a Chartering Manager with a strong focus on the Supra/Ultra Market.
  • Extensive expertise in the dry bulk shipping market and thorough understanding of chartering dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and secure profitable contracts in a competitive market.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Commercial acumen and a results-oriented approach to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of chartering regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
