This is a full-time role as a Chartering Manager/Senior Dry Cargo Freight Trader at Maxima Shipping, a well- established boutique freight operator based in Athens.

Maxima offers high-quality sea transportation services as a commercial freight operator in the Handysize and Supramax segments.

As a Freight Trader, your day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Day-to-day follow up of cargoes / vessels
  • Very close monitoring of the market
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with Head Charterers/commodity traders/ Shipowners/ brokers
  • Identify trading opportunities

This includes working closely with ship-owners and cargo interests to ensure efficient execution of contractual obligations.

While this role is primarily located in Athens, Maxima offers flexibility for remote work abroad should this be preferred.

Profile:

  • Excellent communication skills
  •  Customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with solid knowledge of both voyage/timecharter cp terms
  • Self-motivated
  • Particular expertise in a specific cargo/trade can be a    plus (e.g. industrial cargoes)  
  • Good understanding of the freight markets
  • Previous proven experience of minimum 5 years on freight trading or as a  broker is a must.
