GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
A Technical Superintendent with tanker experience is required for an international ship management company. The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall technical management of the vessels assigned to their management. The ideal candidate will have sailed as a Chief Engineer and have previous experience as a Technical Superintendent.

Our client is a large European Ship Management company that have been operating successfully in Asia for several years.
 
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
The successful applicant will have the necessary technical/maritime qualifications i.e. Must have sailed as a Chief Engineer with relevant sailing and/or shore based experience as a Technical Superintendent. The soft skills will ensure you have a good command of oral and written English and have excellent communication skills and good interpersonal skills to develop close relationships with shipboard staff, vessel owners, charterers as well as internal and external support functions.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):-

  • Safe, efficient and environment conscious operation of the assigned vessels.
  • Ensure vessels comply with all relevant rules & regulations regarding ISM code, the relevant ISO standards, flag state, port state and the industry's special requirements and regulations. 
  • Support on matters related to technical operations as required and keep technical statistics.
  • Analyze and respond to Undesired Events and provide support to assigned vessels for Internal/External Audits and PSC inspections.
  • Participate in the evaluation of Shipboard management Systems Review and arrange Management Reviews. 
  • Prepare annual budgets, maintain required standard and safe running of vessel and monitor and manage vessels within owner approved budget.
  • Update owners on the budgets from time to time; and acts as per their instruction
